data-mm-id=”_at7s4f9xd”>Apparently the Bengals are willing to do anything they can to keep Joe Burrow happy, even though he's not officially a member of their franchise yet. That includes allowing him to influence personnel decisions. Reportedly. According to Peter King, Burrow pulled a LeBron James when he met with the Bengals at the Scouting Combine last week, telling them he thinks they should keep former star WR A.J. Green in the mix. Listening to the man they plan to pick No. 1 in the upcoming draft, a report leaked yesterday saying the Bengals will give Green the franchise tag if they can't agree to a long-term deal. Earlier this week Joe Burrow was asked about the possibility of playing with A.J. Green:"A.J.'s been one of the best players at his position for a very long time. And, you know if I am lucky enough to get drafted No. 1 overall, I would like to have him on the roster." https://t.co/Jfi4ryIEJI— Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) March 1, 2020Ask and ye shall receive. Of course, Burrow doesn't carry the same weight as LeBron, who has seemingly controlled the roster on every team he's played for since taking his talents to South Beach. But he is using the power he has now to pressure the Bengals into doing what he wants. He already admitted he has "leverage" and said he wants to go to a team that's "committed" to winning titles, both comments perceived as slights against the Bengals, who haven't won a playoff game since 1990. Regardless of those comments, Burrow, coming off the greatest statistical passing season in college football history, wants as much help as he can get and is going to use the clout he has now to get it. That doesn't mean he'll always get his way with the Bengals, but it's clear they're already listening to a guy they hope can be their franchise quarterback moving forward.

Kai Havertz labelled Bukayo Saka as unbelievable as his team-mate was the catalyst for Arsenal starting their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Wolves.
England winger Saka produced a wonderful cross for Havertz to head home the opener at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Provider then turned scorer in the second half when Saka cut inside Rayan Ait-Nouri and drilled low into the near post.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Havertz said: Saka is unbelievable. There are not a lot of players like him on the planet and he is still so young.
He can get better. It is very rare to see a young player like this perform every week at the highest level.

The Blues’ recent 2-1 defeat at Manchester United kept them in 10th place, five points behind West Ham in ninth.
And Pochettino believes big-money signings Fernandez and Caicedo need to up their levels but acknowledged the two 22-year-olds’ development is a “process”.

PSG have opened talks with Marcus Rashford s representatives about joining the Ligue 1 club from Manchester United, according to L Equipe.

Pep Guardiola insists he will continue to prioritise the Premier League at Manchester City and feels Champions League success may still be a bridge too far next season.
City play for the first time since being crowned Premier League champions when they face Swansea City on Sunday, a dominant triumph they secured with five games to spare.
A 5-1 aggregate loss to Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals threatened to take some of the shine off Guardiola s achievement as his team approached the finish line domestically and the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss – now a seven-time champion across Europe s major divisions – feels sustained Premier League success is the best way to establish City as an imposing European presence.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke believes he has the depth and flexibility to cope with the loss of Kieran Tierney for next week’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain.
Tierney suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Real Sociedad on Saturday and Clarke has added left-back Greg Taylor and centre-back Liam Cooper to his squad.
Scotland will qualify for next summer’s finals in Germany if they get a point in Seville on October 12.
“First and foremost it’s a shame for Kieran,” Clarke said. “He got a really good move on loan to Sociedad, started really well and obviously picked up what looks like quite a significant injury.
“We will miss him but I know Kieran, he will work as hard as he can to get back as quickly as possible, and we will be there…
Manchester United legend Roy Keane saluted Marcus Rashford for proving he has the character to be the team s main man, but Gary Neville now wants him to replicate his form season after season.
Rashford is enjoying a phenomenal campaign, with his 25 goals across all competitions prior to Sunday s trip to Liverpool already his best return for a single season.
There appeared to be doubts about Rashford s long-term future at United after a hugely underwhelming 2021-22 season, but he has had a new lease of life since Erik ten Hag s arrival.
He showed real promise before the World Cup, but it is since his return from Qatar that Rashford s form has reached new heights, scoring 10 goals in his previous 10 league games ahead of Sunday.

Thiago Silva has already fulfilled a childhood dream by representing Brazil, but he lacks no motivation heading into the Copa America.

Wayne Rooney believes Manchester United will struggle to catch Manchester City this season.
Pep Guardiola s City are firmly in control of the Premier League title race, holding a 13-point advantage over United despite drawing 1-1 at Burnley on Saturday.
Rooney played as United were beaten by Guardiola s great Barcelona side in the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals – scoring in the latter defeat at Wembley – and he grudgingly concedes his old rivals are a pleasure to watch.
In terms of catching Manchester City, certainly not this season and, if I m honest, next season it will be very difficult, he told Sky Sports Monday Night Football programme when assessing United s prospects in the Manchester rivalry.

Xabi Alonso wants Bayer Leverkusen to click through the gears after they edged out Jena in the DFB-Pokal.
Jonas Hofmann s header was enough to send holders Leverkusen into the next round with a 1-0 win on Wednesday.
Alonso s side only allowed their lower-league opponents to have six shots, but worryingly for the Bundesliga champions, those did accumulate to 1.04 expected goals (xG).
Indeed, Hamza Muqaj missed a golden opportunity for the hosts worth 0.75 xG in second-half stoppage time.

According to a recent report from A Bola, Manchester United may well agree to the signing of Bruno Fernandes in the next two days with the deal taking a big step forward in recent hours.
Both United and Sporting are believed to have agreed to a deal that is worth around €55 million, which will also include some bonuses depending on the future success of Manchester United.
This is a move that has been in the making for a while now, and despite it initially seeming like they’d be able to get it over the finish line pretty quickly, United have fallen into the trap once again of a transfer being dragged out for most of the window.
They still need a few more faces in order to make a sustained push for the top four between now and the end of the season, but …
